Who can apply?
A
very good coverage if you are an international
student who:
• Is enrolled in at least 60% of the required courses
for a specific program at a Canadian school, college,
university or accredited educational institution.
• Is a temporary resident of Canada without any
government health care coverage.
• Has completed your studies and remains up to a year in
Canada to work in the field of your studies.
• Would like coverage under your policy for dependents
living with you.

Who is eligible for this insurance?
To be eligible for coverage a person must:
a) be a student; or
b) be a dependent of such eligible student, all of
whom live together in the same residence as the
insured student; and
c) be currently in good health; and
d) be less than 65 years of age; and
e) not be insured or eligible for benefits under a
Canadian government health insurance plan.

ACCIDENTAL DENTAL
Treatment or services to whole or sound
natural teeth which are damaged as a result
of an accidental blow to the face – up to

WISDOM TEETH
Extraction of impacted wisdom teeth, up to
$100 per tooth for necessary dental and/or
oral surgical procedures.
DENTAL EMERGENCIES
Treatment for the immediate relief of acute
dental pain caused by other than a blow to
the face, up to $500 |

ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT
|
The insurer agrees to pay up to the sum
insured of $15,000,
for loss of life, limb or sight resulting
directly from accidental injury occurring
during the period of coverage, except while
boarding, riding or alighting from an
aircraft.

MATERNITY BENEFIT |
Standard Plan
Up to $1,000, for the following, as the
result of your pregnancy, miscarriage, or
complications related thereto:
a) hospital accommodation at the daily
public or standard ward rate; and
b) services or treatment by a physician.
No benefits will be payable for expenses
incurred for childbirth,
voluntary termination of pregnancy or for
any expenses incurred in the 8 weeks prior
to the expected delivery date or after the
expected delivery date.
Enhanced plan
The Maternity Benefit as outlined above is
increased to a maximum of $10,000, and
includes:
a) expenses incurred as a result of
childbirth; and
b) pre-natal and post natal care including
routine new-born nursing care. |

PSYCHOLOGIST AND PSYCHIATRIC CARE |
Available with Enhanced plan only
• inpatient up to $10,000
• outpatient psychological consultation, up
to a maximum
of $1,000 in any 12 consecutive month
period. |

Up
to the sum insured, for acute emergency
sickness or injury incurred during the
period of coverage while you are travelling
outside of Canada, other than your country
of origin, provided you spend at least 51%
of the period of coverage within Canada.
Trips to the United States are limited to 30
days. |

Pre-existing medical conditions |
Enhanced Plan only:
Covered
provided the condition was stable in the 90
days immediately before the effective date
of the policy. |

Claims procedure |
You must call TIC emergency assistance prior
to any surgery being performed or within 24
hours of admission to hospital.
Failure to do so without reasonable cause,
will reduce eligible expenses by 20%.
